It's all started with an ideal, a dream of starting a small business for port machinery. As engineers, this was our only motivation. Finally, this dream came true in 1992 with the establishment of our first company, OMF. The company represented Officine Meccaniche Fantuzzi, an Italian manufacturer of port equipment.
In just 25 years of proceeding from modest origins, we have managed to create an exemplary institution in our field of activity. Standing in a row all together all the time, we tackled challenges and hardships that gave us a competency advantage, which motivated us to gain higher qualifications over time.
As a highly specialized supplier of port spares and services, Portunus serves its customers worldwide, acting as a one-stop shop for equipment, spare parts and services for all port needs. You'll find more details about it in other parts of this webpage, but we want to highlight its unique quality that sets it apart from the crowd, a true learning organization that can adapt its elements while keeping its core intact.
Portunus, which we now know as the Roman goddess of harbors, was once tiny. Now it continues to grow rapidly and ceaselessly. Becoming a partner in the joint venture with ZPMC in 2012 marked another milestone for the company.
Today Portunus works with major terminal operators such as APMT, DPWorld, Hutchison, PSA, ICTSI and TIL, also conducts projects for major manufacturers such as Liebherr & Mitsubishi It operates in 4 continents with its wide market coverage. The service team performs high-level engineering work, while the spare parts department reaches the far corners of our world.
These achievements have strengthened our self-confidence by validating our business model and encouraged us to look to the future with faith and peace. We sincerely believe that there are impressive breakthroughs waiting for us somewhere in the future. This is our ultimate legacy for the second generation of Portunus management.
